Let’s start talking to the boys who are one of the biggest revelation this year. They sold 3 millions of cds in Germany with only 2 albums, they are doing great. Now has been released Scream, a mix of songs from their 2 albums in English. Now I would start asking How do you feel achieving all this success?
Bill: It’s crazy!! We’re living a wonderful period and we’re enjoying ourself a lot, including the European tour and the releasing of this new album. It’s a crazy thing!
I: does he really said that?
I2: he could say everything and we wouldn’t understand him;]we don’t know anything of german, and sometimes we have to say yes, yes as if we understood them. Btw we’d like to know something more about the name of the band: tokio hotel, who choose it, how was it born?
Bill: we are metropolitan boys, we live in big cities, we love big cities especially Tokyo, Hotel cuz we spend there most of our time.
I2: sure you know then when you reach a certain success you only have to live in hotels
I: well, let’s go back to scream which is composed by 12 songs with the best of the last 2 albums with new recordings in English and it seems that they had to rerecord some songs three tones lower cuz bill was only 13 when he first recorded some songs. How was to record these songs in English?
Tom: yes we have to rerecord more than three songs in a lower key cuz bill’s voice had been changing a lot in the meantime
I:How do you feel in the English version, do you think you gain something, you lost something??
Bill: we wanted to sing in english because we wanted to reach with our lyrics as much people as possible so for me it was a new challenge cuz new songs were created changing language but we are happy with that cuz many people will understand us now!
I2: in your songs you deal with teenage problems so you’re now the idols of teenagers. What kind of relation do you have with your fans?
Bill: we’ve got a very strong connection with our fans. We are dealing about themes that are dear to us too concerning our age so there’s a strong link with our fans!
I: In some minutes we’re going to see their video “Monsoon”, whose previous title was, Inga help me… Durch den monsun ( you can hear how does he spell it :S durk den monsun…) which was on the first place in german charts, I know that the video has been recorded in South Africa so what does it happen in it, how was making it?did you enjoy it?
Tom: it was amazing, we enjoyed it a lot! Even because on that helicopter we had only a little seat beltand it was funny when the helicopter went down, so we really enjoyed ourselves even if it was quite exacting cuz we had to travel for 26 hours to be there only for 2 days.

I: we’re back and we still are with tokio hotel. Some minutes ago we talked with them about their new English album which is going to be released in some days. We want to continue talking to them. We’d like to talk about “twins” because I know that tom and bill were so similar when they were children that they had to wear a shirt with their name wrote on it and now you’re totally different
Bill:yeah we were really similar when we were younger, then when we grow up, each one of us choose a different style.
Tom: but I’m still the more handsome;PP ( tom is always the same)

I2:When we were seeing your video we received a lot of messages saying: bill is so handsome, tom is amazing etc.. aren’t you afraid of sticking in this whirl of teeny bands??
Bill: we have never wanted to fit a specific role so we’re not afraid of that, because we just do what we like to do, we act like we are in the reality so for us the most important thing is that people listen to our music, we love our fans but we do what we want to do, we make our music not taking care of what happens outside even id we love those who listen to our music.
I:I know that you are very young but we were wondering what would you have liked to do if you hadn’t became famous??

I2:In this period you are promoting your album across Europe, how is it going?
Bill: this is crazy for us, we would have never thought that we would have been able to visit all these countries. It couldn’t be better!!we would have never expected that!
I2: how do you feel when a foreign audience sing your songs in German?

Bill: it’s incredible!!! Because they sing without any accent, they are great!!
Tom: they do their best , even when they wait for us near our hotels, they try their best to tell us something in our mother language. I learnt some important words in Italian too for example “vaffanculo” ( crappity smack you)
I2: yeah for example vaffanculo ihihih it’s always like that!

I: now I’d like to know what are they going to do next, when are they going to come back to Italy, what are they going to do on summer…
Bill speaks
I: can I try to translate?? Maybe he said that they’re looking forward to come back to italy because they liked a lot the impact with the Italian fans and with the Italian audience, they are very busy at the moment and on summer they’re going to tour across Europe!
I2: was she right??
